AEW was having itself quite the night, on its way to an all-timer of a pay-per-view at Revolution and only needing the big finish.
Instead, it ended with a main event that was successful in creating multiple creative avenues moving forward but didn’t feel like the crescendo AEW needed in front of a crowd of 11,000-plus at Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night. The match left many wonder if it deserved to close the show.
AEW put Jon Moxley and Adam Copeland in an impossible spot having to follow Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher’s incredible cage match.
Moxley, 39 and Copeland, 51, set a very deliberate WWE-style pace with the AEW world champion trying to end his challenger’s career as promised.
