Zach Wilson’s fiancée is ecstatic about the quarterback’s next chapter.
Shortly after the ex-Jets and Broncos quarterback agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract with the Dolphins on Monday, Nicolette Dellanno celebrated the move with a heartfelt message on social media.
“So happy for my boy,” Dellanno gushed in an Instagram Story in response to the news.
Wilson, 25, spent the past season in Denver and was the third quarterback on the depth chart behind Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham, respectively.
Wilson’s deal with the Dolphins is fully guaranteed and could rise to $10 million.
In joining the Dolphins — who went 8-9 in 2024 and missed the playoffs — Wilson could potentially slide into a backup role behind starter Tua Tagovailoa.
Tagovailoa, 27, played in 11 games this season, throwing for 2,867 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He missed time early on after being diagnosed with a concussion in a Week 2 loss to the Bills before returning for a Week 8 loss to the Cardinals.
Tagovailoa did not play in the final two regular-season games.
Wilson is very familiar with the Dolphins having played them twice a year during his time with the Jets.
Gang Green’s No. 2 overall pick in 2021, Wilson failed to meet expectations in New York, where he threw 23 touchdowns against 25 interceptions through 34 games in three rocky seasons.
Wilson was meant to reset in 2023, when the Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers, but was thrust into action when the four-time league MVP sustained a season-ending Achilles injury just four plays into his tenure in New York.
Dellanno, who was first linked to Wilson in 2022, supported the signal-caller during his time in Denver, where she also became close with fellow QB wives Izzy Nix and Kennedy Stidham.
Wilson proposed to Dellanno last summer when they vacationed in Italy.
“Zach, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Everyday I admire your strength and i’m so incredibly proud of you. I’m so in love with you and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together,” she gushed on Instagram in June 2024.
