A Greenwich Village townhouse that “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker reportedly once used as a giant closet is back on the market.
The 7,912-square-foot property on East 10th Street reappeared as a listing last week for $29.99 million. The five-floor red-brick home sits one block east of Fifth Avenue, spans 25 feet and includes six bedrooms, according to the listing. In addition to a celebrity past, the residence boasts rare luxuries, like a bi-level private garden, a wine cellar and marble clad fireplaces.
Noble Black, who holds the listing alongside fellow Douglas Elliman agent Jennifer Kaufman Stillman, told The Post that the current owners managed to conserve the home’s West Village charm despite a gut renovation.
“The architecture of the space is so beautifully maintained,” he told The Post. “That’s what I think is very special. It’s just a gorgeous house that speaks for itself.”
The residence was built in 1864 and still features original details like custom pocket doors, intricate moldings and seven woodburning fireplaces.
The listing boasts a “sun-drenched foyer” at the home’s entrance and an eye-catching grand staircase, complimented by oversized windows and a 12-foot ceilings.
The large eat-in kitchen can be found on the garden level, and below that, a basement with a laundry room and a 1,000-bottle temperature-controlled wine cellar.
The primary bedroom features 10-foot ceilings and takes up an entire floor of the home. Its spa-like en-suite bathroom includes a fireplace, a free-standing tub, custom marble and oak vanities, and access to one of two private garden-view terraces.
Parker and her actor husband Matthew Broderick bought the property for $18.99 million in 2011 and sold it in 2015, although they spent three of those years trying to sell. The famous power couple first listed the townhouse for $25 million in 2012, and dropped the price several times until parting with it at a loss in 2015 for $18.25 million.
Despite undertaking a full renovation at the East 10th Street residence, Parker and Broderick reportedly never lived there. Instead — in true Carrie fashion — they used the home as a giant closet, 6sqft reported.
The current sellers, identified as Scott Sullivan and Anna Marrs, purchased the home in 2020 for $15.85 million. They were previously featured in the Guardian for filling their North London backyard with giant ferns, but it appears they didn’t bring the same enthusiasm to their West Village environs.
Listing photos show a partially paved backyard with well-manicured shrubs and a light tree canopy.
While SJP’s former pad is certainly nice to look at, it’s not getting nearly as much attention as the West Village home of her “Sex and the City” character, Carrie Bradshaw.
The real-life owner of the brownstone made headlines last week when he was caught on camera confronting selfie-taking tourists, shouting “It’s not Carrie’s, it’s mine!”
The owner is currently petitioning the city’s Landmark Preservation Committee for a steel and cast-iron gate to deter unwanted visitors, who have flocked there for photos for years.
