Alaska Airlines flight attendant reacts to firing over viral twerk video

She didn’t like them blowing the whistle while she twerked.

Alaska Airlines flight attendant Nelle Diala has spilled the beans on getting fired for filming herself twerking at work, claiming that the punishment was “unfair” and even “discriminatory.” She opened up about getting canned for shaking her tailfeather in a recent interview with Inside Edition.

“I didn’t think that being so happy could turn into something like this,” she said. “I just decided to take advantage of the moment to wake myself and get myself hyped up for my day.”

Diala had reportedly uploaded a now-private TikTok video depicting herself shaking her moneymaker on an empty plane at 6 a.m. while waiting two hours for the captain to arrive.

“I put on a proud face every time I stepped on that plane and for them to terminate me without giving me a chance, it just was unfair,” lamented Diala. Inside Edition

“Ghetto bih till i D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you,” she captioned the viral clip, which she’d filmed as — somewhat ironically in retrospect — a victory dance to celebrate the end of her new hire probationary period.

“I was really proud of myself that I came so far,” Diala recalled.

Her joy was short-lived as Alaska Airlines ended her employment just six months into her contract, leaving her devastated.

“I put on a proud face every time I stepped on that plane and for them to terminate me without giving me a chance, it just was unfair,” lamented Diala in the Inside Edition clip, adding that Alaska informed her she “broke their social media policy.”

However, the former air staffer said she didn’t “think my video and my post and the way I was dancing would be deemed as inappropriate.”

In another post, according to the Daily Mail, Diala claimed that Alaska “did discriminate” against her because her dance was “geared toward the urban community.”

“So, of course, the company would like to embrace ‘all cultures’ but leave the minority girl from the ghetto OUT,” she declared.

Alaska Airlines reps have since weighed in on the incident.

“While we don’t comment on personnel matters, we hold all flight attendants to high standards for conduct and guest care,” a spokesperson told The Independent. “All new flight attendants are subject to probationary periods, just like all Alaska Airlines employees.”

Following her firing, the content creator reposted the twerking video with the caption: “Can’t even be yourself anymore, without the world being so sensitive. What’s wrong with a little twerk before work, people act like they never did that before.”

The footage, which has since been set to “private,” was hashtagged #discriminationisreal.

Diala even set up a GoFundMe page to help support the so-called “wrongfully fired” crew member until she can land a new flight attendant gig.

The fundraising campaign has closed after raising a total of $3,312.

While working the friendly skies was ostensibly a “dream job,” Diala admitted that she used the earnings to help finance her “blossoming lingerie and dessert businesses.”
