It only took four days for Vice President JD Vance’s former family home in Alexandria, Virginia to find a buyer.
Vance bought the 100-year-old farmhouse in the vibrant neighborhood of Del Ray back in early 2023, before he was selected as President Trump’s running mate.
Vance listed the home just last week for $1.69 million. Clearly, the price was right, as a sale is already pending, according to Zillow. Mansion Global first reported the listing change, which is held by TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.
The dark blue home includes five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one partial bathroom.
Despite its age, the 5,750-square-foot residence boasts modern upgrades and fresh design. A large porch precedes an open-concept first floor boasting hardwood floors, a woodburning fireplace and countless built-ins. A second floor houses four bedrooms, including a king-size master suite and a space-themed child’s bedroom.
The hardscaped backyard includes a modern-looking ADU, or accessory dwelling unit, adding value to the property. It includes a kitchenette, a wood-burning fireplace and a full bathroom.
The family kept to themselves during their short stay in Del Ray, a predominantly liberal community, the Washingtonian reported. Increasingly tight security around the residence and an adjoining park reportedly drew the ire of some of Vance’s neighbors.
The park, to which the home has direct access, recently reopened to the public after being closed for the family’s security, ALXNow reported.
The November election moved the Vance clan from neighborhood living to the vice president’s official residence at One Observatory Circle. Built in 1893, Queen Anne style home is located on the grounds of the US Naval Observatory.
