Katie Holmes’ Dawson’s Creek home is on the auction block

A house from a hit ’90s teen show is on the auction block for a pittance — but you’ll have to take it home with you.

The Wilmington, North Carolina setting of the teen drama classic “Dawson’s Creek” is on auction for less than $30,000, but there’s a major catch. The buyer needs to get the house off the owner’s 2.39-acre property.

Luther Bros Auction LLC is selling the three-bed, four-bath house that was once the home of Katie Holmes’ character, Joey Potter. Katie Holmes attained international stardom as Potter, the best friend and love interest of James Van Der Beek’s Dawson Leery.

The 128-episode coming-of-age show launched the careers of Holmes, Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams, among others. The show, which wrapped in 2003, is credited with kickstarting a dearth of teen-centered TV shows, with shows like “One Tree Hill” and “90210” counted among its predecessors.

Luther told Port City Daily that the home’s appearance is still very consistent with its “Dawson’s Creek” days, with a few minor upgrades.

The auction ends on March 21. Buyers must pay cash and move the home within 30 days. Responsibility rests on the buyer to organize the move and finance the structure’s relocation.

Auctioneer and realtor Chris Luther told the outlet that “the task was a little outside his lane.”

Luther told the paper he, along with the property’s owner, felt uncertain as to whether auctioning the house by itself would succeed.

“The interest in the show and what the house is, and whose house it was on the show, with it being Katie Holmes, we said, ‘Well, you know what? There’s only one way to find out,’” Luther told Port City Daily.

The home already has three bids, raising the initial bidding price of $25,000 to $29,000.

A member of the owner’s family lived at the property for some time, but eventually moved out.

The home has been moved before — to the left side of the property. That was a few years ago.

The waterfront property on which the home sits is worth $854,000, according to county tax records. The two buildings on the property, including Potter’s former home, are valued at $1.16 million cumulatively.

Luther reported “pretty good” interest in the auction so far. There are three open houses left.

“[This project] is just such an anomaly, honestly,” Luther told the Port City Daily. “If somebody wants to move it and make it an Airbnb and say ‘Come stay where Katie Holes stayed in Dawson’s Creek.’ Or, you know, somebody wants to move it out to a lot and live out of it — there’s a lot of uses for it.”
