Daniel Jones chose his best path to starting again.
The Giants’ failed franchise quarterback reportedly agreed to terms Tuesday with the Colts on a one-year, $14 million contract instead of returning to the Vikings where he could’ve tried to become the next Sam Darnold.
With the Colts, Jones will compete with Anthony Richardson, the former No. 3 pick in the 2023 draft who has had an inconsistent first two seasons in the NFL.
The deal is thought to be worth up to $17.7 million with incentives, NFL Network reported.
Jones was 24-44-1 over six seasons with the Giants.
He was cut last November — in the second year of a regrettable four-year, $160 million extension — and signed with the Vikings to learn under head coach Kevin O’Connell, though he never took a snap during their playoff run.

Jones was a domino thought to be holding up the quarterback market for Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers.
