A woman spent an entire year collecting her bunny’s fur and turned it into a bonnet-style beanie for herself.
Josie Francis, 29, collected the fur of her lionhead rabbit, Phoebe, 4, during weekly grooming sessions.
Once Francis had collected enough fur, she enlisted the help of an artisan, who spun the fur into yarn.
She then hired someone to crochet the yarn into a beanie.
Francis finally received the finished product, which turned out perfectly, and was even surprised with a tiny fur hat especially made for Phoebe.
Francis and her friend and business partner at Fuzz and Fuzz, Nicole Agner, are now launching a limited edition collection of “Phoebe Beanies” made out of her bunny’s fur.
Francis, from Los Angeles, California, said: “This project is so special to us because it’s a reflection of our world – combining creativity, craftsmanship and the love we have for Phoebe.
“It started as a fun experiment, but seeing it come to life as something wearable makes it even more meaningful.”
The official release of “Phoebe Beanies” has yet to be confirmed but is expected to be announced soon.
